Hello fireemblem! Review Santa is coming around again this year.

Here's what it's all about: If you have a piece of Fire Emblem fanfiction with five or fewer responses to it*, mark_asphodel or I will personally read it and leave feedback of substantial length. It's not an exchange. No strings attached. No lumps of coal. Happy holidays!

*You can ask us even if there's more, and we'll get to it if we have the time.

Leave a request with the following:

Title/Relevant Game: Self-explanatory. You can list either a game or a world, depending on what you feel describes your fic better.
Link: Self-explanatory.
Type of Feedback Desired: You can go into detail if you'd like, but we have three basic settings: Nice, Criticism with Sugar, Thorough Critique. The labels describe it well, I think, but for your reference there are examples below. (Of course, there are some spoilers for the games/fics they are for.) Ask for what you'd like, don't be shy~ :3
Notes: Anything else you'd like to tell us, such as the way you'd prefer to receive your review (and any pertinent information, eg, your email if you want it by email) or any concerns about the story you'd like us to address in our feedback (or any glaring flaws you're aware of and would like us to overlook if you chose criticism). We try to be consistent in terms of review quality, but you may also indicate that you prefer a certain a reader. We will try to respect that, unless the reader of your choosing does not feel capable of doing your review for some reason, such as game familiarity.

We will have your feedback done no later than a week after your request is up. One of us will tag your request just to check in with you (and between ourselves). If any more information is needed at this point, we'll ask.

I'm intimately familiar with Tellius. I'm well-versed in FE7, but weak with FE6. I'm familiar with FE8 and FE4, but somewhat shaky with the details. I only have passing familiarity with FE5, FE11, and FE12, and know almost nothing of FE2.

I'm most familiar with Archanea, especially FE3 and FE11. I'm also pretty comfortable with FE2 and both routes of FE8. Elibe and Tellius are a bit of a mixed bag for me; I've played part of FE7 and part of FE9 and that's it. I've read the scripts for FE4 and FE5 but haven't played either, so that's pretty iffy territory for me, too.

Fine Print:

We guarantee at least 150 words of feedback within a week for any Fire Emblem fic longer than 2000 words. We will read up to a total of 2 works or 60,000 words per author, whichever comes first. Although we will try, we cannot guarantee review length for works shorter than 2,000 words; we cannot guarantee that we will finish the fic in its entirety or respond within a week if it is over 60,000 words (although we will try to at least cover the first 60,000).

We do not claim that any criticism we leave will be completely correct or universally agreed upon, although we like to think that we are careful readers.

Due to simple logistics, we cannot personally give feedback for fics that both of us (or the only one with knowledge of the game) have already read and reviewed recently. You may leave it here and we will try our best to milk connections and get you a reader. However, we cannot guarantee anything.

For multichapter stories, "five or fewer responses" is counted by the total number of people who have reviewed the story before. So for example, a five-chapter story with ten reviews from three different people would qualify for Review Santa.

If you wish to leave someone else's fic here as a present to them, you may. If you know the author intimately, please specify what type of feedback the author would prefer; otherwise, we will use our best judgment. We generally default to Criticism with Sugar.

Of course, any onlooker is more than welcome to join us in giving submissions some love. We ask that you please respect the requester's crit preference.

Dear FE fans--

With SSB4 coming out next year, there's the usual speculation and silliness over which FE characters 'deserve' a spot in the game and which ones don't. However, I keep hearing the same thing I've been hearing since before SSB:Brawl came out-- "Sigurd should/will/must be in, because he's the most popular Lord in Japan."

Given that the Jugdral games didn't even have any stickers in Brawl, much less an assist trophy, and we haven't had any remakes of FE4/5 announced, is there any truth to this assertion? At all?

Any enlightenment would be appreciated.

20th anniversary artbook question

I've been wanting to get my hands on the 20th anniversary artbook and was eying Yesasia for that in February but couldn't bring myself to spend $50 just like that. When I finally decided $50 was worth it, the artbook went out of stock!! When they seemed to have stock once again, I ordered it only to have them tell me a month later that they couldn't get a hold of the artbook. Their availability still says "ships within 21 days", which I assume means it's pretty hard to get a hold of this artbook and that probably if I try again with them, I'll have no luck.

I've asked around in conventions I've gone to, and none of the artbook places had this one. D:

So yeah. Still try to find the artbook! Anyone know where else I might check? I'm hoping to pay $50 or less since that's what I finally managed to convince myself I'd be willing to pay! I checked CDJapan today and saw they had two listings, one that's out of stock and one that's still in stock, but I'm unsure what the difference is between these two are. Are they the same thing, or different?

Out of stock one <- Gold font for the 20th anniversary words at the top? This was released 2011/01?
In stock one <- the "20th anniversary" words at the top aren't as visible. It looks like maybe the Yesasia version was also this one based on the font color, or is that just lighting from how the photo was taken? This was released 2010/06?

My buddy and I did a Shinon+Rolf cosplay photoshoot today outside, shooting arrows at awesome things like small plastic trash cans and patches of grass

I can't tell you all how glad I am to not have to be working on that wig anymore. It was so awful! It took a lot of sharpies and frustration and at one point we shot an arrow straight through the wig head's nose out of sheer anger, and in the end we handed it over to Swiper to finish for us, because aaauuuugghhhhh why are we so terrible at wigs.
But she did an incredible job fixing our sorry attempts at a tight, high ponytail, managing to salvage into the awesomeness that it is now.

We'll have several more shots developed tomorrow (real film what is that? My Ike [who doesn't really use online networking sites so meh] suddenly became fascinated with photography, and he's doing some pretty cool stuff, so tomorrow's pics should be pretty cool, he hopes. I'll just add them onto this entry I suppose, so keep a tab open if that would interest you.)

So there was some interest over on the emblanon anon meme in a new forum being set up for FE.

I have... gone and done that, lol. I was going to just advertise on the anon meme, in keeping with the spirit of it, but since posts with links must be approved, I opted to take it over here as well. It is meant to be a logged-in and more organized extension of some of the anon meme discussion (since really, we have one of the most civil anon memes ever, I think).

Hey guys~ About a month ago, I made a post regarding the status of the anthology and how it would go about, so today I'm posting the form for everyone to "officially" join this thing. Whoo! Sign up guys, the anthology isn't going to write or draw itself (though that would be nice)

Both of the larger displays have been sitting on a shelf for years, and as much as I love them, I think it's time to part with them. Both are in great condition (albeit dusty).
I'd like to get at least $10 for each of them (but I'm more attached to the FE7 display box).

The smaller box isn't much too special, it's what was on display in Gamestops prior to FE9's release, and is in a random DVD box. Maybe $2-3 if anyone would like it.

I ship from the US and only accept paypal.

I don't have a pic, but I'm also looking to sell my imported copy of Sealed Sword (with box, but no instruction booklet. Box is a little beat up). $20 would be ideal, but I am open to offers.
