Picspam - The Parrish Plessis Series

The Parrish Plessis series by Marianne de Pierres are comprised of three novels. Nylon Angel, Code Noir and Crash Deluxe. They take place in a post-apocalyptic future, set in Australia, most likely somewhere between Sydney and Melbourne. The government has been broken down and the media runs the show. Everything is broadcast, and everything is always being telecast.

Parrish lives in the slums, known as The Tert. Vivacity is north, and to the east is a supposedly-unknown place known simply as Dis. In the first novel, Parrish is set up for the murder of a media personality, Razz Retribution, and is infected with a virus known as the Eskaalim. While trying to find out the true murder of Razz, she battles against the virus that feeds of her adrenaline and is setting about turning her into a monster. The second novel takes her to Dis, where she discovers the the media is experimenting on the population there, known as the Mo-Vay, and in the third novel, Parrish finds herself in Vivacity and finally facing in the creature inside of her.

I decided to cast only my favourite characters in the series, otherwise it would add up to several dozen. The world they live in is very multicultural, but it's also very cut off from the world. At one point, Parrish claims to be from the west, and nobody particularly knows about it. The US is known simply as Merika and once again, nobody knows much about it. Everybody is stuck and know nothing about their past, except for what the media tells them.

she's also partial to nudity

but it just got stuck in my head that she is

GLIDA - EVERLYN SAMPI

a mo-vay feral living in dis who has been experimented on
and thus grows fur on her entire body


MERV - STEVE BUSCEMI

merv lives in the computers
and has been infected with a virus


GLORIOUS - KRISTIN CHENOWETH

an amorato (aka a prostitute who loves what she does) who's quite partial to making out with parrish
i always felt she was a lot older than she led on in the book
