i’ve revamped my patreon and adjusted my drawing schedule to give you more goodies. i’m continuing the blogs i’ve been doing since i started patreon in 2019, but making an effort to get more personal and in-depth. i find it hard to reveal myself to a broad spectrum of people on places like instagram or god forbid twitter (oh, and in real life…) but behind a curtain it feels a lot more comfy. i blogged a lot before the internet broke itself. but nowwww i’m building out and making little astrology zines every month (i’m not an astrologer, it’s just a hobby, approach it as such, but it’s guaranteed to work) and drawings on postcards on nice black paper with white ink. i am really excited about getting to share more physical things with more physical people and i really hope i can get you excited, too. i feel really miserable on instagram so i’m sort of trying to pivot to make patreon my most reliable online presence, which will be hard since it’s paywalled, but whatever, i’m willing to try it. thanks for reading this!!! see you soon???
p.s. i put the szarlotka shirt back up on my bigcartel, too
p.p.s. i’d also like to expand my substack and start offering zines & post cards in exchange for yearly subscriptions but i’ll have to figure out a way to make that work first! so keep that in mind :)
p.p.p.s OH and i’m reprinting my x-files book, Final Repose, right now. it will be available soon but i’ll mostly be selling it in person at events. i have the free version of bigcartel so i can only list so many things.
READY TO FIND OUT WHAT ALL THE FUSS IS ABOUT?
Frog Farm 2024
80 pages, 4.5x6.2
"A supremely creepy atmospheric story of a young mother being stalked by a man in her neighborhood. She just wants to love her child, play music and do her day job. The overbearing Wlad has other ideas. What appears to start as a casual meeting and small talk quickly escalates to unwanted gifts, harassment and a confrontation. This small thick comic printed at the Risolab in NYC (in handsome Federal Blue and Scarlet) is composed of small
moments and scenes that build upon themselves as the tension ratchets up.
Hice’s line is delicate and assured. Drawing beautiful contours punctuated with staticky texture in minimalist compositions. The attractive art acts as a foil to the oppressive tone that looms over every interaction. The feeling that someone out there is watching. This has been billed a ‘soft thriller.’ I’m not
sure there’s much soft about it. It’s sharply observed and written. Pared down but never lacking. It’s a real page turner, and the effect is lingering."
