I had a glimpse of TRC Chapter 166 and I wonder...

What is it with CLAMP mutilating their characters, especially the best ones ? Is it what their work is for them now ? Mutilation, humiliation and characters led to madness ?

I'm not totally sure I like the way TRC is taking. It started to degenerate with the Tokyo events and lost its 'freshness'. Too bad...
