The Crooked Fiddle Band

I discovered this band a week or two ago on Brendan's computer. I think that the best genre under which to categorise them is 'progressive folk metal'. I'm also inclined to think that on the continuum from purely descriptive (e.g., big, yellow) to also-very-evaluative attributes (e.g., delicate, profound), 'progressive folk metal' tends very much to the latter end. As well as this, the fact that there is such a genre as progressive folk metal is definitely intrinsically good. I bloody love this band.

P.S. It turns out, in looking at the band's website, that this band played at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Where I was. And that they had played in a Cork jazz festival before that, whither I could easily have gone, and whither I was tempted in any case. Damn and blast. I don't know when they'll be near me again.
