I'm no longer a barista

My last day as a barista in the coffee shop Taste was yesterday! So I'll not be making coffee again for at least a few years, except if I can convince someone to let me use their machine. (I certainly can do this in St Andrews. But after that, what?) I leave with a sense that I was an asset. Especially because I could make really nice flowers in my lattes, and that sort of correlates with good coffee.

There are a lot of people - regulars - I will now never see again, and to whom I never said goodbye. It's kind of sad, and strange. Many of them could have been good friends had circumstances been different.

I guess that's a St Andrews thing. No-one stays there forever, apart from the locals. And I guess some of the university staff, but they don't go to indie coffee shops.
