Lifestyles of the Broke and Easily Amused

Hello, LJ! How are you today? I hope this fine 4/21 finds you well. It's gawjuss here, getting ALMOST a bit too warm, but I'm still a happy camper. I won't be so happy if it warms up too much more soon, though; I told some of you about this, but. Our heater is broken. This wouldn't be an issue if the part that makes our heater not work also means the AIR CONDITIONING isn't working either.

Fuck youuuuuuu, home repair! Augh!

Anyway, yeah. Spring lasted for approximately 2 weeks here, then it was in the 20s and 30s for most of April (WTFHATE!!!), and though it's getting warm again the weather seems bent on skipping straight to summer. Thank you, Ohio. I love you too. WHICH IS WHY I AM LEAVING! It's really beautiful right now, though. I unexpectedly got basically the whole day off from work; I came in for 45 minutes, didn't have a single table, busied myself doing dumb side work, and got sent home. On the way home I drove through Oakwood, one of the nicest and most expensive neighborhoods in this area, and it was really lovely just driving around with the windows down and my Eagles of Death Metal mix CD in the player. I'll definitely miss going for drives when I get to California, but it'll be too expensive there, not to mention the traffic in the Bay area ain't exactly light. Not that I should, anymore, with the air pollution et al that it causes, but it's always been one of my favorite things to do.

One of the things I DID notice was how many houses are for sale right now. It's prompting me and my mother to get more of a serious move on the selling-the-house front. We went out and picked up paint chips and a few other home improvement things, and she's finishing up her application to get a California medical license. Exciting!

Also exciting is the online birthday shopping I've been doing. Yes, birthday. My mom and I fail at going shopping at malls anymore, apparently. We tried twice, and both times went "AUGH TOO BUSY HATE!" and ran home before we found anything I wanted. It's hard for me, too, because I'm so tall but not HUGE that I can rarely find clothes that fit me in stores without a LOT of searching. So I've been investigating online. I'll probably wind up with a sundress or two and some new tops, and maybe a pair of shoes. I'm so fucking girly, hahaha. I will bore you all with more updates on this subject as they happen.

There was something else I was going to post about, but either it was long and unnecessary or it was short and unnecessary and I need to go get to work now anyway. I WAS going to take a picture of my room's current state and post it, but I don't want to completely horrify anyone who hasn't already had to witness it. (jou and solmaru, be thankful. I was going to take pictures of your old (high-school!) art, too, and post those, but since I'm lazy you are saved.)

All right, scuttling off now before laziness kicks in any harder and I lose the gumption. ♥ (OH HAY! thelackey, I got your email. I'll fire off a response to you tonight if I don't catch you online first. Thank you so much!!!! *KISSES*)
