"What in God's name IS that thing?!?!"
Heh. This will be a journal record of my friend Emily coming to visit me. Whee!
Basically, after the Natalie Macmaster concert Saturday night, I went back to my dad's house and stayed up for awhile talking to (guess who) Emily. Derf. The next morning, my dad went to the commissary at the base and then came back, we burned a few CDs, and then we left for OSU. I got here around... er.... maybe, 2? Something like that. Anyway, Emily and I traded phone calls a couple of times, trying to figure out who was where etc. and then I hopped in the shower (NAKEY TIME! WHOO!). After she got here, I hopped in the car with her and we tried to find a place where she could park her car without it being towed the next day. We were TOTALLY unsuccessful in this endeavor, and the sky opened up and spewed rain and thunder and lightning down upon us, and I had totally forgotten my umbrella in my dorm. AUGH! *laughs*
So, we decided that we would just drive to Josh's house, and not bother with the traffic and parking laws in Columbus. This was our first mistake. We went back to my dorm so I could get my stuff together and call Josh for directions. See, as Emily was driving, SHE really should have been the one to get the directions, but I'm all like, "Derf, I've been there before, I can give good directions if I get them from Josh!" DERF! *laughs at her own stupidity* Yeah. So, it only takes a good... mmm... 30 minutes to get to Josh's house from my dorm, right? Yeah, it definately took us like, an hour, an hour and fiftenn minutes maybe. *giggles insanely* First, we had to drive slow around campus, because it was seriously flooding all over the place and we even hydroplaned a couple of times ("Emily... EMILY!!!") Then, we missed our exit on the highway. DERF. It wasn't even an exit, we were just supposed to stay with East 70, and we definately missed the split and stayed on North 71. >_< SOOOOO instead of doing the INTELLIGENT thing and making Emily turn around and get back on the highway and doing a proper turn-around, I'm all like, "I CAN GET TO THE HIGHWAY FROM HERE! DERF!" So we spent a good... oh.... 15 minutes or so driving up and down Broad Street, and it was a good 20 or 25 minutes total before we finally got back to where we were supposed to be.
Most of this is my fault, as Emily had a) never been to Josh's house and b) hardly driven in Columbus at all up until this point. Oh, it gets better. We're ALMOST at Josh's house, we have just one more turn, off of Refugee Road into his housing development. Only... it was dark... and we TOTALLY missed the turn. So, I called Josh on my cell phone to say we were almost there when we first turned onto Refugee Road, and then about... oh... 20 minutes later, he calls us and is like "Where the hell ARE you?!" Okay, for the people who don't know, Refugee Road is one of those roads that goes on for freaking EVER. It's like High Street in main Columbus, or state route 48 or Clyo road in Centerville. AUGH! *giggles* So, we FINALLY made it to Josh's house, after all that....
^^ We had pizza with Josh and his parents, and then we went down to the basement and watched THe Brotherhood of the Wolf and Kung Pow. *giggles insanely* I'd only seen the first half of both of those movies; Kung Pow I fell asleep during the first time, and Brotherhood of the Wolf I had to leave halfway through last time. sooooo, it was fun. FRONSAC KICKS ASS!!! And I adore Mani... *grins* "And why yes, I *am* wearing a loin cloth." ^-^ So, that was fun. Then we started talking about self-defense and martial arts, and THAT was fun, because Emily is in Women's Self-Defense and Josh is in like, I don't know, four kinds of martial arts or something. ^-^ I got to see all of his cool weapons that he has.... I think my favorite was the bull whip, even though he doesn't know how to use it, he just HAS one. ^-^
So, around... derf... two or so in the morning, WAY too late considering how early Josh has to be at work nearly every day, we finally went to bed. Emily and I slept in the guestbedroom (in the same bed OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! no not a big deal really. ^^) and we got up around, erm, like 6:20 or something, then Josh left in his car and Emily and I drove back to campus. So, that was a lot of fun. We had a blast. Emily and I came back and SLEPT some more, because DAMN we were tired, then we got up and went to High Street in search of food. I bought her a pita at the Pita Pit, and we both got Chicken Caesar pitas (NUMMY!!) and talked about random shit for a good three hours. Ahhh, it was good to have one of mah wimmin up for awhile. WHEE! But then, she had to go, and I came back up here and posted this journal entry. ^-^
And now? I'm going to go take a shower, because I stinky. *giggles* Later!
