Cid stared at Vincent, his heart beating very fast. He furrowed his brow, looking down at his friend in concern. "Yeah? What is it?" The pilot shifted uncomfortably, Vincent's weight in his lap pressing against the muscles of his legs and groin in very arousing places. The black-haired man took a deep, shuddering breath and responded with difficulty, "Don't..... don't leave me alone." His face flushed, and he looked away, the expression on his face embarassed.
"Shhh...." Cid patted Vincent's shoulder gingerly, unsure of what to do. "It's gonna be allright.... Ah...." He looked around, desperately searching for something to distract his friend. "Um, want a cigarette?" It was the first thing that came to mind.
Vincent smiled gently. "No. Just.... hold me..." He leaned his head against Cid's shoulder and shut his eyes, trying to fight off another wave of nausea. It wasn't Chaos trying for another round, just the after-effects of the struggle. He honestly didn't know how he had managed it this time.... if it hadn't been for Cid..... He opened his eyes again, trying not to think about what might have happened.
"Heh.... Right, hold you." Unsure of what to do, and for lack of something to concentrate on, Cid began stroking Vincent's hair. "So. Um." Under his breath, he muttered, "Fuck..." Where do they teach you what to do in this kind of situation?
Vincent laughed softly at his friend's discomfort before turning serious and even somewhat bashful once more. One pale hand reached up and came to rest on Cid's chest. "So..." He fumbled for a conversation topic that would make the pilot more comfortable, extremely aware of Cid's erection in his lower back. "Is the Highwind in good condition?"
Cid took a deep breath, trying very hard not to look down at Vincent's hand and to ignore his own arousal. "Yep. Fixed her up while you guys were out partying...." He stopped suddenly, processing his own words, and winced. "Shit, sorry. Didn't mean that." Dammit. Dammit, dammit, dammit.
Vincent smiled. "Don't worry about it." His hand delicately traced its way up to Cid's collarbone, his fingers barely touching his friend's still-wet skin. Cid laughed nervously, trying to draw away without actually doing it.
"You feelin' any better?"
The man in his arms didn't respond right away. "A bit." He let out a soft sight, his breath cool against the heat of Cid's skin, and the pilot had to stifle a shiver. DAMN it!
"Good, good...." Cid was silent for a moment, then started to lift his friend out of his lap. "Wanna try finishing that shower?" He didn't know how much longer he could hold the man in his lap before something would happen.....
"I guess...." Vincent stood with some difficulty, using Cid's shoulder for support. He leaned against the counter, breathing slightly less heavy than it was, his groin right in front of Cid's face. Cid blushed involuntarily and cursed under his breath. He scrambled to his feet, grinning nervously and wrapping a towel around his waist.
"Right! Need some help there?"
"Please....if you wouldn't mind." The taller man leaned against his Cid's shoulder for support, making no move to get a towel of his own.
The pilot slipped an arm around his friend's waist and half-carried him back to the shower stall, reaching in and turning the water back on. "There ya go...." He patted Vincent on the back, awkwardly. Vincent attempted to stand on his own and almost fell.
"I don't... I don't think I can quite do this alone yet...."
"You wanna go sit down?" Cid asked, the concern evident in his voice. "I can dig you up a chair or something...." He trailed off, blushing very slightly and running his fingers through his hair.
Vincent shook his head, looking at Cid earnestly. There was a note of pleading in his voice as he whispered, "I need.... need to get this blood off me. Please."
"Okay..." Cid took a deep breath and stepped into the shower stall with Vincent, an arm wrapped securely around his friend's waist. "Just...lean on me..." He couldn't decide which worried him more, that he was this close to Vincent or that he LIKED being this close to Vincent. Shit.
Vincent wrapped an arm around the other man's neck, leaning on him heavily for support. "Thank you, Cid.... I.... I appreciate this." He shut his eyes and tilted his head back slightly.
"No problem...." Cid began gently rubbing at the caked blood on Vincent's chest. Some of it had come off earlier, but there had been so much of it that a good deal was still left. "Can't have you goin' around looking like a fuckin' wreck, can we?"
Vincent smiled and opened his eyes to look at his friend. "That doesn't sound particularly appealing, no." He looked speculatively at Cid's chest and face. "Not that you haven't looked better as well." He was privately amazed at how much he was talking....normally one of his friends would be lucky if he said three sentences in a row.
Cid looked down at himself, laughing. "No, I look like a goddamn greasemonkey, huh?" He ran his fingers through Vincent's hair to make sure there was no blood in it. "Happens when you gotta take care of your baby, though...." The pilot and mechanic reached over and patted the bulkhead fondly. The Highwind was one thing that always made him feel relaxed and at ease.
Vincent laughed with Cid inspite of himself. There were worse people who could've come to his rescue when Chaos came upon him. "You're good at taking care of things..." His voice trailed off huskily. Suddenly ashamed, Vincent tried to stand up again on his own, but he slipped and fell heavily against Cid's chest.
"Whoa!" Cid wrapped his other arm around Vincent, pulling him gently upright. "Easy there....." He grinned at his friend, his eyes twinkling reassuringly. "Don't go fallin' and breakin' your leg."
"Thank you again...." Vincent stared into Cid's eyes, his face suddenly very flushe for someone normally so pale. Cid suddenly realized that only a few inches separated their bodies. "No.... we don't want that...."
