R.I.P. Derek

Derek Hernandez was a friend of mine who I graduated 8th grade with from St. Genevieve. I found out about it yesterday when my best friend Jasmine (who also graduated with us) called me to tell me about it. It's not surprising that he died in a car accident, since I always figured that's how it'd happen. I just can't believe he died so soon. His 20th birthday's this Tuesday. That's also when his funeral's gonna be. Me, Jasmine, and Celinette have been calling around to let everyone know what happened. Hopefully I'll be able to get in touch with someone who can give me a ride to either the wake or the funeral. If not, I wanna try and plan a reunion with everyone in Derek's honor. Me and Derek used to hang out freshman and soph year, but lost touch; it's been awhile since I've last seen and talked to him. Now it's too late. RIP Derek. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
