Your guide to joining the Fediverse
What is the Fediverse?
The Fediverse is a collection of independent servers that share the same open protocols.
Each node hosts its own users, content, and rules, yet all nodes can “talk” to each other.
How the Fediverse Works
It works like email: your account lives on one server, but you can send messages to any other server that uses the same protocol.
Platforms such as Mastodon, Pixelfed, or PeerTube communicate because they follow common standards (ActivityPub).
You sign up on a single node, but you can follow and interact with users on any other node across the Fediverse.
No single entity controls the whole network; each server defines its own policies while staying connected to the larger ecosystem.
