Oh dear.
I was in an art gallery today, watching a video installation about designing the perfect city. It was pleasantly ludicrous. An irritatingly melodramatic narrator spoke over supposedly dramatic images of history, religion, science and engineering, whilst kindly informing the viewer that cities are designed in five days upon the memories of drowning, burning and various other forms of social subjugation, doubtless. According to the artist's world view, reading out passages from Genesis about two angels being sent down from heaven to punish the heathens is the natural companion of the footage of the planes crashing into the World Trade Centre.
Anyway, I left him a comment in his comment book, observing that "the memory of amputation" had actually been accompanied by images of dissections. Fanaticism is no excuse for inaccurate biology.
(In other news, can't believe it's been two years already.)
