Tomorrow begins the grand adventure! Or so they say.
I'll be driving to Philadelphia bright and early tomorrow morning. My car is full of boxes that'll get put in a moving van that I pick up on Friday, and on Saturday we're moving stuff up to Boston for good. It's a little backwards, since I'm driving from Western Massachusetts to Philadelphia and then back again, but it's actually what makes the most sense, cost-wise. We don't get to move in until next Wednesday because the boys who live in the place now are being difficult and won't let us stay in the empty bedroom, but it should be fine. I'll have two days of down time at home with my dog while my mom's off camping in Montana, and then I move in to my very first apartment.
In the meantime, I'm going to stay at Bryn Mawr for a day or two. I want to see everyone before I head up north, see about a girl I'm crazy for, and try to remember that I already said my final goodbye to the place. Not that I won't visit, obviously, but I have to try to remember that it's not my home anymore. I'm feeling kind of panicky about that.
But: I start my life soon! And anyone who is in or around Boston or is visiting or wants to should stay on my as-of-yet nonexistent couch because I'm going to want to see familiar faces as often as I can.
Here is a song I have been listening to on repeat as of late: "What A Good Boy," by Barenaked Ladies.
Also, everyone should read both Let The Great World Spin by Colum McCann and The History Of Love by Nicole Krauss. And also probably The Wind-Up Bird Chronicles by Haruki Murakami. I AM SO INTO READING! Even if I'm the latest on the uptake on good literature.
