today, MIL and I came as close to an open argument as we've ever gotten.
We have some meat in the house. it was pretty ripe when we got it. It's been frozen for like over 2 months. We pulled out the last of it yesterday. Even frozen it smells off to me. I boiled the crap out of it, hopefully, but it stank... to me. No one else in the family seems to notice.
Well, 'you' have to eat it. no waste.
I absolutly refuse to eat it.
Hubby had some last night. Is it related to his fever and bleeding? Unlikly, as he gets NOTHING from the food he eats - good or bad, it just slides right through him.
MIL thinks it was the food - but NOT the meat part of it - but the kidney beans she added to it. No, sorry, just no. He can eat beans without bleeding.
She said I should eat some. I refused. She said it was fine. I still refused. I explained how nasty e-coli was, and that I didn't want to eat it. She said, her stomach could eat anything, and she would eat it.
I shut my mouth.
Besides, telling her that e-coli kills elderly and children first wouldn't have done any good. she wouldn't believe me. and it doesn't matter - the food must be eaten.*
And I refuse.
*(by her standards, by islamic standards, but not by mine when the food is dangerous)
