Guess who found an LJ app?
That would be me ;)
Holidays are going well thus far. Nothing super fun's going on, sad to say, but I'm grateful for the rest. I hadn't realised how worn down and ragged I was feeling until now. I still don't feel relaxed, though, even though I've been doing nothing for days -- I feel kind of tight-chested and anxious for some reason and it's making total relaxation just about impossible. Sucks.
Must say, though, at least I'm not feeling anxious about my exam results ;) Passed phonology (the lecturer decided last minute that making this exam pass/fail would have ended badly) and 18th century literature. I'd have expected a better mark if my final essay wasn't, A) terrible and short and only had two sources (ouch) and, B) done in the last possible minute. I got a good Credit for Shakespeare though. My essay was good and I think my exam went OK, but I felt halfway through the exam that I was writing in circles. Uh-oh. Anyway, it must not have been too bad because, once again, by some force of miracle, I have not failed anything. Woo.
In case you all weren't aware, Christmas is coming. It's really sprung up this year fast. I've done most of my shopping but I want to finish it this week or I'll go insane having to brave the crowds nearer Christmas. I don't understand why people go all at once, lol, surely they're aware that Christmas happens all year round and surely this isn't their first go at it...Why can't they start their shopping earlier?!
So yes. So far, so good. I have a stack of books to read (currently reading "The Stand" by Stephen King) and there's a boom of short stories by Roald Dahl I want to get to which looks great. I picked it up the other day while I was mumbling, "I won't buy another book, I won't buy another book..." So much for that. I'm hoping I'll get one or two Visa debit gift cards for Christmas so I can pare down my wish list a little bit. It's quite the thing, lol.
It's almost a quarter past twelve in the afternoon here and I have the jig of still being in bed. Tough life, I know ;)
xx
