Writer's Block: Everything's coming up rabbits

What sign were you born under in the Chinese lunar calendar? Do you think it accurately represents your animal spirit?

I was born -- many moons ago ;) -- in 1988, the year of the Dragon. Which explains a lot. I don't often put much stock in these zodiac dealies, though I always like to know what people's signs are, because there you can't always neatly box up people's personalities. However, having said that, I feel that I am (and have been told that I am) fairly typical of both my Chinese zodiac and my star sign which is Gemini. I can hear you all groaning from here. Jerks.

Anyway.

Occupying the 5th position in the Chinese Zodiac, the Dragon is the mightiest of the signs. Dragons symbolize such character traits as dominance and ambition. Dragons prefer to live by their own rules and if left on their own, are usually successful. They’re driven, unafraid of challenges, and willing to take risks. They’re passionate in all they do and they do things in grand fashion. Unfortunately, this passion and enthusiasm can leave Dragons feeling exhausted and interestingly, unfulfilled.

While Dragons frequently help others, rarely will they ask for help. Others are attracted to Dragons, especially their colorful personalities, but deep down, Dragons prefer to be alone. Perhaps that is because they’re most successful when working alone. Their preference to be alone can come across as arrogance or conceitedness, but these qualities aren’t applicable. Dragons have tempers that can flare fast!

So that stuff's pretty accurate, I think, but being born in '88, apparently I'm an Earth Dragon and the thing I'm reading now says that Earth Dragons are more level-headed and are more able to control their behaviours...Which is not really that true of me, lol. But in the same paragraph it says that we can be supportive of others but prefer being admired by others...Which might or might not be true.
