Good lord...

So, it's been a week since my exams finished and I took that week as respite from all things (almost all things) digital. No online presence for a week...And it was great. A little weird, but great. I've been reading and watching TV and movies and stuff. Yay! Oh, and playing with some new Nerf gear my brother and I bought yesterday. Yes, a little childish, but so much fun. For reals.

I've been reading It by Stephen King which I bought on Tuesday when I went shopping for my mother's birthday present (which is next month, but best to get it early, lol). Now, some of you might not know, but I really, seriously don't like clowns. I don't know what it is, but I've never liked them. Except for Krusty the Clown, but that's because he's a real badass. Anyways, this book is....Something else. It's long and involved, has a bajillion characters and the scenes are intricate and vivid, just what I like in a good holiday book. Except for the nightmares....I've never had a book give me nightmares before, but I'm determined to finish it because it'd be such a waste otherwise and I'm really enjoying it. Just not when I close my eyes, lol.

On Tuesday I also stopped at JB-HiFi to get some DVDs (what with it being my holiday and all that), so I got Home Alone (because I have an unusual fondness for Macaulay Culkin), Autopsy: Life and Death (which is by Dr. Gunter von Hagens, the anatomist who developed "plastination") and a werewolf movie I had not yet seen called The Howling. There is some chance - a wee chance - that this last movie has contributed to my nightmares because it will need to be either, A) broad daylight, or B) a cold day in hell before I watch it again. I was sitting up in bed watching the horror unfold on my new HD LCD TV, wishing for my old CRT Tv back (because nothing is that scary on an old TV) with the blankets pulled  right up to my eyes which were almost squinched shut. Now, I don't want to paint the picture that I'm a wuss or anything, because I'm not. I really don't scare that easily, but I think I've finally met my match. I'll read Stephen King books until I can't see, but I think I'm done with that movie. *shudders*

What else? I went to lunch on Thursday with Nimao (my only uni friend...Who's technically not a uni friend since I met her during my UPC course last year, lol) and chatted and drank too much coffee. She's going away next week I think, but after that we're getting together to smoke the weed that she didn't smoke on her trip, lol. That'll be fun. It's been such a long time.

Yesterday I went shopping with my brother so he could get True Blood (yay!) season one for mum's birthday. He couldn't understand why he had to get it yesterday since mum's birthday isn't 'til next month and I had to point out that he's not generally all that careful with his money and shopping while he still had some wasn't a bad idea. So, after getting the DVD, lol, we went to Toys R Us (I hate the name of that shop...Damn grammar) and got Nerf's answer to capture the flag. I have to get some batteries for the flag today. But everything else is good...The darts have velcro on them which is awesome because the set comes with two vests with targets on them. We then had lunch and went to see Grown Ups, that ensemble movie with Adam Sandler, Rob Schneider, Kevin James, David Spade and Chris Rock. It was....OK. Since I'm not a fan of the first four, lol, it didn't suck too badly.

Uh, which pretty much brings us up to now, lol. Man, I do go on sometimes. It's all a bit ranty, but I've pretty much unwound and the least possible amount of thinking is the best. Just letting you all know that I'm alive (more or less) and still here xoxo
