Writer's Block: Sheldon and Penny 4ever!
Fanfiction: Do you love it or hate it, or are you totally indifferent? Why?
I love it.
Yes, tonnes of people don't get it, but sucks to be them.
I love that through fanfic we can get more out of our favourite characters. I love that we can keep them as themselves, but just see them in their ordinary (and sometimes extraordinary) lives.
Some people think that it's not that big a deal, you know? Taking a pre existing character and bending them to your sick little will, but it's not that simple (as many of you on my flist know, lol)...The characters are almost people unto themselves, so you can't just - for example - shove House out of the way in a corridor and expect him to take it, because he just won't act that way. They need to be in character, so although there's much fun to be had, there are limitations and boundaries you have to stick to.
Fanfiction is also great as a writing exercise - gets all those juices (and some others ;) flowing so you can work on your own fiction...Which I rarely do, lol, but still.
Uh...So yeah, basically I love fanfic and couldn't imagine my life without it and without the people I've met through it :)
