Writer's Block: Collector's piece

Do you collect anything? If so, describe your favorite collection (past or present).

I can't help but collect things, lol. But to be honest, it's usually more like hoarding; it's kind of like I find something I like (neat rock, stick, particular pen etc etc) and I keep it. Forever. It makes throwing things away really difficult because I get all attached to my stuff.

It was really bad when I was working at the hardware store, lol, I kept on bringing home all of these weird looking key blanks and miscut keys.

Anyway, that aside, there are some things that are more collection-like than rubbish-like. I have quite a few Marvel action figures that I adore - if I'm passing a garage sale or toy shop or comic shop, I have to stop and check it out in case there's a Spider-Man I don't yet have, lol. I also have a small comic book collection. For a while I was collecting yo-yos, so there's a bunch of those floating around.

But the biggest thing for me, and some people wouldn't consider it a collection, is books. I'd say I was a bibliophile, which involves the having of books as well as the reading of them. If there's an odd or rare edition of a book I like, I'll have to have it...Which is why I have two copies of Peter Pan. One is the gorgeously illustrated 80th anniversary edition and the other cost me $8 from a second-hand bookshop. I like to see full sets of books, so I'm steadily moving my way through Stephen King's books (that has to do, in part, with the way that King looks on the spine, lol), and the orange covered Penguin books look great too.

I might count them all one day...I'd like to know how many I have, lol...But, gawd, all that work ;)
