Writer's Block: Single pride day
Given that we're less than a week out from Valentines, how do you feel about the approaching holiday? Will you participate or abstain? If you're not in a relationship, how will you celebrate your single status?
I, not that unhappy to say, am single and so won't be celebrating Valentine's Day this year. I'll just do what I do every other year and get on with my life and try to ignore everyone else acting like love-sick idiots.
But to be honest, even when I'm in a relationship, I don't celebrate VDay, usually much to the chagrin of my significant other. To me, it's pointless because it cheapens everything it's trying to promote. I mean, if you're in love with someone then why only show it grandly on one day of the year? Why wouldn't you show your partner how you feel whenever you so chose? It's ridiculous.
