Writer's Block: Meanwhile, back on the ranch ...
What is the absolute worst part of returning to work or school after a particularly long and relaxing vacation? How quickly do you reacclimate to the daily grind?
All of returning to work sucks arse. All of it.
I hate having to get up at a civilised time, even though I always tell myself I'll reset my body clock, but never do. I hate having to be upright (that might actually be one of the hardest things). I hate that I can't take a three hour lunch and have to listen to people give me crap etc and so forth.
At my work you reacclimate really quickly...On the morning of the second day back, it feels like you didn't even take time off in the first place. How depressing.
BUT!!!!!! (A big but) it won't be for much longer. No more work related bullshit.
The university offers come out on the twentieth and I am going to resign from my job (unbeknownst to my employers, hee hee) regardless of whether I'm offered a place at a uni or not. I just feel like my life should be going somewhere else, in a different direction, you know? And I know that the longer I stay in this wretched job, the longer I am likely to stay, if that makes sense...Like, I can see myself still there, miserable thirty years on and I can't let that happen to myself.
I've decided that while it might not be the most responsible of options, it's one of the most necessary. I need to do something else; if I get into university, then brilliant, problem solved, but if I don't, then I need desperately to do something else. My job isn't in the least bit stimulating or interesting to me and while I meet interesting people (some of whom I actually like), it doesn't tilt the scales back up. Retail isn't for me...Or at least hardware isn't for me, lol. Though I could have told you that when I first started working there (and if I'm brutally honest, before I even started, lol).
So, yeah. I have more than enough money to keep me for a while and who knows what might happen? All I know is that uni or no, I need a fucking break!!!! Days of sleeping in and doing not much else...Maybe getting my paws on some green. Noice.

P.S. A customer came in today to return a level because it was crooked...Yeah, you read that right. Some people are dumb.
