So, weirdest thing happened today.
I woke up this morning, as I am wont to do, and thought, "hm, the light coming in through the blinds is a bit weird", so I went outside and the sky was orange. I thought, "hm, maybe there's a bushfire"...Which didn't make sense, because unless the fire is on your doorstep the sky doesn't change colours - not to orange, anyhow - and I couldn't smell smoke. So, I figured, no fire, and I got my kit on and headed out to work.
It wasn't until I was at the bus stop that I noticed the film of red dust over the surface of the road. Turns out, there was a windstorm out waaaaay west in Broken Hill - the outback, people - and it swept bulldust, as it's called, all the way out to the city where it covered everything.
For real, it swept into work and settled over everything. We all decided that there was no point in cleaning the place up until tomorrow, at least...Which means I won't have to clean it up until tomorrow at least.
Could have been worse, I suppose...In the Blue Mountains (North of Sydney, I think) it rained today and because of the red dust in the air, it rained mud. Hilarious :)
An altogether useless update, I have to say, but really!! It was like the sun disappeared and we were awaiting the four horsemen, for real. Warranted an entry, I think xx
