Writer's Block: Birthday Shout-out

Happy birthday, J.K. Rowling! Which of her seven Harry Potter novels do you think is the most satisfying read?
I loved the third one where we meet Remus. I love werewolves, so that was a treat when I first read it. And the sixth and seventh ones were great...Not just in the story lines, but in size as well, lol, they were huge books. I adored the backstory with Snape being the Half-Blood Prince in the sixth and I loved the Great War in the seventh book, even though it was hard to read when some of my favourite characters (Tonks, Remus, Fred) died.

Lol, I was reading Deathly Hallows on the train when it came out - I couldn't put it down - and got to the bit where Fred dies. I threw the book down onto the seat opposite me and forced myself to breathe again (how dramatic). Everyone turned to look at me and I held up the book to excuse myself and one guy held up his copy of the book and nodded. He knew.

I can't believe how huge this Harry Potter story got, and not just globally, but in my life. I just adore them, the Weasleys and Malfoys especially. The stories are fantastic, I love the originality of it all, I love the idea of Hogwarts...Everyone was just waiting for their letter to come, lol, I know I wasn't the only one.

JKR is a genius - she came up with a neat, intricate world that managed to intrigue enough children to force them to pick up a book and actually read it. Anything that gets kids reading is brilliant.

Happy birthday, JKR!!! xoxo
