Cough, splutter, cough.

So, I was due to go back to work yesterday, so I did.

And I left after about 45 minutes, which is pathetic, but it's very hard to work in retail when you're coughing your arse off on customers and can't stand long enough to cut a set of keys. That'll happen when you're so exhausted from not coughing yourself awake every night and not being able to take in deep breaths. Nice.

Anyway, obviously I had to go back and get another medical certificate, so I made that arse-mothering trek again.

I figured I'd go back to the doctor I saw on Tuesday, so I went to Revesby. The medical centre there was packed out and I wouldn't have gotten in for hours. So I went to Panania instead where there were fewer people. I did the reverse of the trip I did on Tuesday. Here lies the down side of not driving.

Anyhow, the doctor I saw at Panania reviewed me and said, "yep, bronchitis". Duh. And also that I have sinusitis. He gave me a new certificate to cover me for yesterday and today (back to work on Monday) and told me that the doctor I saw on Tuesday shouldn't have sent me back to work. He also gave me a script for some medication for the sinusitis and a cough suppressant (which I was told I couldn't have the first time around) because although I'm phlegmy, the cough is painful and largely unproductive...Rather painful, actually. I'm pretty sure that with each bone-rattling coughing fit, a rib is snapped off.

So, I got home eventually and called my boss, Ross. He took it all OK, especially when I told him that the first doctor shouldn't have even sent me back to work. I was a little apprehensive about it all, but I've got medical certificates up the wazoo, so it's all good.

Happily, I was kept amused on my way to and from work, and at the doctor's by Mr. Fry's podgrams. I listened to all eight of them in the one day, lol. Very amusing...I'm going to have to get myself an iTunes card and download some other stuff of his. His is a good voice to listen to when you're sick...Soothing and warm. Aw.

So, I've got three sets of medication to take and I keep forgetting when to take what, lol. The one for sinusitis is easy, though, because that's once a day before food, so I take that in the morning. Then there's the Amoxycillin for the bronchitis which is three times a day...But I can never remember how far apart - eight hours, or something? I don't know. Then there's the wretched cough suppressant which is a syrup (hearkens back to memories of children's Panadol) and is strawberry flavoured. Supposedly. The best thing about it is it makes one drowsy...I'm all for conscious altering medications ;)

So...Alf is on, lol, so I'm off xx
