Oi...

No, I'm not dead...It's been *checks* three days since my last confession. Or entry, much of a muchness really.

Went to my English Lit thingummy on Monday and, although it's tiring as hell, it's great. I'd forgotten how much I love the subject. We're doing Renaissance Poetry currently and have started with Francesco Petrarch who wrote the first sonnets (Petrarchian Sonnets, if you will) in Italy in the 14th century and went to Sir Thomas Wyatt who took the sonnet from Italy, back to England and turned it into something closer to what we know and love today. Beautiful stuff - can't help but be jealous and enthralled.

I wish I could write like that, but poetry's not my bag, baby.

Ugh, I'm reading Pride and Prejudice at the moment for English Lit. I started it on the train this morning and I'm not sure how I feel about it. Except pained. I'm liking this Darcy fellow - reminds me of Angel, House and Snaope, lol. I have to read Macbeth, too, but...You know *shrugs*

Anyway, not much else is happening at the mo. Work is torturous; the days are very long when there's no one to talk to but yourself. I mean there are other coworkers, but it's not as if they really speak to me. Very pleasant. I hope this Global Financial Crisis (or, GFC, if you've been paying attention to the media) destroys the business, or I hope Bunnings buys us out - they've been wanting to for ages...I wonder if there's anything I can do to encourage them.

Um....

Oh, a family friend passed away last night. I used to work with him back in the family business. He had melanoma that travelled quickly to his lungs and brain...Really quickly, actually - they diagnosed it as melanoma and sent him for a scan and then there it was in the results. Anyway, he was a great guy, a genuinely nice person, which is hard enough to come by as is, and also is credited with being the closest thing to Gandalf one can get. Brilliant man, wonderful person and a great friend. Rest well, Jim xox

There was probably other stuff to write about as well, but I can't remember.

Gods, I'm tired. I just felt bad that I hadn't updated, lol.

P.S. With the money the Prime Minister is giving me, I'm buying a 16gb iPod Nano. Woo.
