Honi Soit...

Went to my first English Literature class last night. It's such a small world; a guy I went to TAFE with, Big Craig, is in my class, lol.

We didn't really cover much, just introductory stuff, but it was cool nonetheless. It feels like I'm finally, finally getting on with it.

Got to the uni a bit early so had a poke around. I stood in awe of the Faculty of Medicine building for almost ten minutes...The damn thing's huge!!! Formidable in both size and architecture, I believe it was one of the first buildings built at the University of Sydney. Largely I spent my time reading some signs and having a bit of a gander. And a daydream, lol, going, "I can definitely see myself here...Hell, I'm here already".

Blissful.

Anyway, Renaissance poetry is up first and I'm all over that. For the first assessment we have three topics to choose from, one such being Shakespeare's 18th sonnet (the one that begins, "Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?"). It's fairly obvious, to me at least, which topic I'll choose, lol. I mean the other two are Macbeth and Wuthering Heights *cringes*, so it's a bit of a no-brainer.

I'm looking forward to doing all this work, which is odd, lol. I'm not generally very good at essays or managing my time, but now is as good a time as any to learn.

I have my second Study for Success class on Friday, which I am not looking forward to. It goes for three hours. Three hours (6:30 to 9:30) just talking about studying and how to do it. I've decided to take the "active listening" approach, but by Christ, it's tiring. Guh. Only one more of those to go after this week. Woo.

Anyhow, not much else going on at the mo. I'm mortified to be back at work. Hatred. Awful. Disgust.

I'm going to head off and watch True Blood. Love that show!!
