*exhales* Meaningless drivel.
My mother and I went into the city today. Our main objectives were to find a present for a friend's 21st, look at some possibilities for a new suit and buy a birthday present for my aunt.
The first place we visited was the Skygarden (right after following some Chinese dragons...It's the year of the Ox now, you know) and went to my favourite clothing shop called Anton's. That's where I got my first fabulous suit from. Originally I was just looking to get some ideas, but I left after putting a $100 deposit on a suit...That's going to cost me just under $900. Oi. Seriously, the guy who works there, David, had a great eye (he even guessed which kind of suit I bought before) and he dressed and fitted me perfectly. He asked me whether or not I'd consider starting to wear ties...I was flabbergasted - I've been thinking about it lately. He put me in an off-white (French Cuffed) shirt, chocolate silk tie and the suit (brown shades, mostly) and I nearly fucking died.
So, I'm going to find some shoes (maybe brogues) and get the cuffs of the slacks done properly. And pay more on the lay-by. And maybe buy a shirt and/or cuff-links.
I did buy a tie, however, though not from Anton's (at $180 a pop, I don't think so). The tie is brown also.
Got Karina's present.
My mum bought my aunt's present.
Life is good.
I swear, I want someone to dress me all the time. Or at least have a brilliant wardrobe that makes me look like i've been professionally dressed. You never feel better than when you're looking your best - yes, it's a shallow statement (from a shallow person), but it's the truth.
I've been bleeding money lately, though, and that's going to have to stop. I have to pay my mother back for the course I'm going to do and for some books (another $1000 or so), and that's going to be it for a good while. I'm going to have to put that tattoo on hold, too, methinks *sighs*.
I'm going to look fabulous at that party.
P.S. I swear, the next suit will be modestly priced. I swear. I was originally thinking of buying something either black or grey to go with the vest I bought a while ago...But that didn't take. Now I have a vest I've never worn...
