Zombiiiiieeeees!!!!

How good is the Halloween layout??? Zombies are love.

It's a little strange, though, because in Australia we don't traditionally celebrate Halloween. It's an "American thing" (usually said with some derision, I might add). But in the last few years more people are getting into it...More costumes being sold, shitloads of Halloweeny lollies and pumpkins and whatever.

Personally, I like the idea of going out and being a bit silly and scary, but I'm not particularly interested in the consumerism side of things. I like the "darker" side of it a bit, but having said that, I like the lighter side of it too. I like the Mexican idea of los dia de los muertas (sp??) - remembering your loved ones who have passed over and providing them with a meal. It's believed in the Mexican tradition that they can come back on that day and visit. I think that the dead can come back any time they please, lol, but what do I know??

Anyway, the rememberance is nice. And everyone likes a good meal, nodoubt, living or otherwise.

Bought new running shoes on Thursday. My very first pair of Nikes. Most pleased. They do the job pretty well, very light, comfortable...I got these inner sole thingos which are good and squishy...And they help the shin splints. And my knee doesn't hurt so much when I run in them. See? Good shoes = happy body.

Also put a $100 deposit on Guitar Hero: World Tour (or, GH:WT) and I can not fucking wait. Just can't want it now. NOW!!!!! A new GH guitar, mike and and drums. That's it, fuckers, DRUMS!!!!!! November 12th, here I come.

Went to the soccer presentation night. Hardly anyone showed up (no surprised) save for the usual suspects. I drank and got drunk, but I didn't get sloshed which was nice. It seems that with age comes a little more control. Chatted to my friends about various things. Zibbo's boyfriend is back from Afghanistan (Kenny's an A.J.) and she was regaling me with his many tales of woe...The fights. The drinking. The R and R (which was neither R nor R, I might hasten to add). Saw some people I went to high school with, which was strange as it always is. Man, there's this one chick who used to be...Well...Heavy...But she's lost a lot of weight and now she's...Well...A bitch. Skinny people are irritating (when they're not me :P).

Anywho, I digress.

I have to jet...There's a serious zombie issue afoot. Real "invasion of the undead" stuff.
