Redders = Tomato Sauce.
Spent Friday night with Era, Rach and two of her Navy buddies, Sam and Anita.
We were catching up on our postponed drinks thingo.
It was most good - much laughter with (at) Era being her loud, flamboyant, hilarious self. And it was funny when we got back to Anita's place and Era and I had to listen to those three nattering away in their Naval lingo. We got a few translations, lol, but it didn't make it too much easier :P Listened to my lovely straightwife play the guitar and sing some of her originals (plus my favourite) and we were all thoroughly impressed (Doghead, Rach said she wants to manage/exploit you after you win Aus. Idol, rofl).
Got back to Rach's place at half four in the morning (or 0430 hours) and I had to help her with getting her key in the door. it was so funny, I've never seen her that trashed before...Although it was at a rather inopportune moment, lol, for she was no good to me after that ;-) Next time.
I woke up pretty early but actually got up at about 9:30 with the nude (yum) slumbering Able Seaman still in bed. Decided to let her sleep off some of the hangover - aren't I nice? Shouldn't have, as it turned out. The phone rang and it was her father just calling to say that they were in Kograh (about 30-45 minutes away). Rach had forgotten that they were going to come over so that they could pick up tickets and go see Priscilla. I couldn't stop laughing, lol, so funny.
So, in a completely unexpected turn of events, I met her parents. Both of whom are very nice (her father's a riot), but a little surprising, lol.
So, the long and short of it is I'll be hearing from her in a few days and we might go do something. What? I don't know, but I'm sure it'll be fun.
Last night my soccer team came over for a barbie and a few drinks. And a good yarn, as always. Had a good time bitching about some absent team mates. Not exactly the best sportsmanship, but shit, eh? My mother delighted in telling them about my "new friend" and I had to correct her and tell her that it was a "potential new friend". Then of course they probed for all sorts of information, which is the way it goes. Thought is was going to all blow over until my dear, loving mother prompted them to ask me the big question. Four people yelled "how old is she?!".
I tried to avoid it, lol, but these people - as dear to me as they are - are completely relentless...."Is she older than me?", from Zibbo, who's a21. Yes. "Is she older than Wicksy?" he's in his late twenties. Yes. They just looked at me.....Best reaction ever. I so, so wish I had a camera. Words can't describe it.
She's a little older than me at 31.
All in all, a good weekend, although I am very tired and not at all looking forward to going back to work tomorrow. In fact, I might cry. Well, probably not.
