So...
So, I had my interview at Mitre 10 today. I spoke with Ross - who was much shorter than I thought he would be - and I asked him about the interviews he's done for the jobs so far and he said he's done the majority of them over the phone, very few of them made it to the shop....So, I got lucky in that regard.
I felt good about it. Five days a week (occasional weekends) paying a little over $400 per week, plus a super plan. Good staff, tidy and small shop. Very orderly. It's the oldest shop on King St in that it's been there for over 120 years. It's always been a hardware store and it's always been run by the same family, which I thought was kind of neat.
There were different bits to the store too, not just the part you walk into off the street, which I thought was cool. There was a bigger part out the back for the larger harware stuff like bathroom fixtures and what not. There was a floor above that, too, which was all stock and stuff like that...Oh, lol, and a lunchroom. Mustn't forget about that, very important. Also there was a shed that they had for potting mixes and stuff. Cool, lol.
So if (heh, when, hopefully) I do wind up working there, I'll be starting off moving stock around and assembling displays and so forth so I can get a handle on the layout of the shop and where everything is. I'll probably be on register too (how exciting!), but Ross said not to worry too much because 99% of the stock is already scanned into the computer, which was something I was a little worried about, because I'm not so great with the numbers.
Umm...........What else can I say about the job I kind of want but don't have yet????? Probably nothing much.
I didn't think I'd be too into the idea of working at Mitre 10, but there you go. I think it's just the fun of being in Newtown all the time, not sitting behind a desk doing a job I hate, and not working with my family....Whom I love dearly, but enough is enough.
So yeah. All that aside.
Soccer training's been cancelled tonight because it's been raining all day, just about. The fields at our soccer ground soak up so, so much water, it's terrible...But being across the road from the George's River, what did one expect?
Blah. Have to iron some shirts...Meh. Have that Centrelink appointment tomorrow morning. Sooooo not looking forward to that. All that waiting in line for very little help. Goodo.
