Out of boredom...

So, I've been stymied by my recent writer's block and so I decided to surf the 'net for decent writing exercises. It was quite the task when I found that there were so many exercises that were repeated...Does no one have original ideas anymore??

Anyhow, there was this one I found where you choose five words from the dictionary at random and write something using those words. Quite amusing, lol, and rather quick and enjoyable.

The words I found were:

1) Smooth
2) Fascinating
3) Contempt
4) Pique
5) Lickspittle (a word that means "a person who behaves  with excessive obedience to those in power". Heh.)

He was a tall man - almost outrageously so - so seeing him in a large room full of average-sized people made me laugh. It piqued my interest, though, and so I chose him to converse with.

In an environment of slovenly individuals, the decision was an easy one to come to.

Not only comically tall, he dressed well and smelled good. He was funny and collected. Rather a fascinating seeming man, if I do say so myself.

His eyes were a unique aqua-marine and he looked upon the little people with nothing short of contempt; as if height equalled superiority. Still, I didn't see it as a negative thing, being someone with an oversized ego myself.

I surmised that his attitude was the result of working for the mayor. An important job for an important man. He was a smooth talker, but I saw him, by the end of the night, for what he really was.

A small-minded lickspittle with an inability to form his own opinions.

It was the last time I went to a singles ball.

Heh. Made me laugh.
