NaNo is dead.
I don't think I can keep writing to get done for the end of November. That's a whole assload of pressure, you know? But I'm going to keep it up for the sake of getting the story out of me. I think I'll keep going until I get a novel...Whenever that will be.
Some of the characters have started to come out really clearly...But I think my creative process is strange. It's like I am that character for a while...I can feel their environment and their actions, I can hear their words in my head. Feel their emotions. It's good, but it's tiring. Especially since one of my characters is a serial killer and another has Multiple Personality Disorder.
There are finer details of the MPD character/s...They each have their own book to write in (as suggested by a therapist) and the others are free to read it. Their handwriting is different (Richard is left-handed) and they write about different things i.e. memories or daily events (Cle writes vivid memories of the abuse and very little else).
So yeah....Last night was an explosive night for me. Jimmy/Cle/Mike/Richard came to life last night. It sounds insane, I know, and don't worry, lol, I don't have schizophrenia or anything, but it was very strange to see all of this in my mind and get through the confusion of having four people sharing one body. The story/notes came out all over the place, lol.
I also did a little research on MPD/DID yesterday when I was at work. Some woman I was reading about has a boyfriend...But she shares him with 12 other me. Her bf has MPD. It can't be an easy life.
Anyway. That confused me again, lol. Enjoy reading.

Oliver Dunne....The very definition of a family man. Has a son (Ryan) and a daughter (Caitlin). He and his wife take care of Oliver's ailing mother. He coaches Ryan's soccer team and never misses Caitlin's dance concerts. Oliver and his wife have been married since they were 21 (they're both 34 now) and have a good, healthy relationship. He's an altogether nice guy...Who has a taste for killing people.
He doesn't kill all that frequently, but there's been more than three victims. The first was when he was 19. He's never been caught. He always takes souvenirs or keepsakes from his victims and keeps them around the house, or he gives them as gifts to his wife e.g. jewellery. Perhaps it excites him to see her wearing the souvenirs. He also sometimes steals underwear off of other people's clotheslines.
Oliver remembers his first murder so vividly. He describes it as falling in love for the first time...but better.

James (Jimmy) Stephens is a self-employed landscape gardener. His hours aren't too demanding, which is convenient. He manages to function well (for the most part) but he has trauma based MPD and shares his mind and body with three other people.
Jimmy's mother died in childbirth and his father died when Jimmy way three or four years old. It was around that time that Jimmy went from "I" to "we". Mike joined him around that time. They were moved to their aunt and uncle's place where they suffered severe sexual abuse and they dissociated further. Enter Cle. Somewhere in the midst of all this emotional carnace Richard came along.
Richard is the most stable of the other three personalities. He seems older than the rest of them and serves as their common sense. He has a distinct feeling of worn brown leather and dark grain wood. He ensures that the others get fed and sometimes clams arguments between Cle and Mike in the background. Richard likes red wine, porterhouse steaks and black coffee. Jimmy hates red wine.
Mike is the only personality that is likely cause damage to the body or other people. He is barely human. All he feels is rage. He has a demented sense of humour and is proudly sick. Anytime there is talk of integration, Mike pushes everyone out of the way and comes to the front. He sees integration as death and will not be killed. He can't build or sustain relationships and has no real desire to do so. Sometimes when Jimmy comes to, his body is bruised because Mike got them into a fight. Mike can't step back from the anger caused by the abuse, but he won't acknowledge it either.
Cle is the only female of the group and this causes difficulties. She either won't or can't let go of the abuse and constantly triggers herself; for example, she drinks hot chocolate and watches war movies, even though those things trigger the others horribly. Jimmy throws out the hot chocolate when he finds it and Mike smashes Cle's mug. Mike and Cle are strongly connected. She sometimes damages the body through SI. She doesn't sleep and eats very little. When Cle has been fronting for long periods of time, Jimmy notices weight loss. Cle treats the others like room mates, rather than head mates.
