Tattoo time...Inky babble.
Because it's close to my birthday, I'm getting that yearning for ink again. Just think, I got my first tattoo around this time last year.
I've been thinking about it a lot and I've really noticed a running theme with pairs. The Czech motto on my calf will be joined by the Eureka flag on the other calf, for example. Actually, I lie; there will be a few other pairless tattoos, but overall, I'm planning on being mostly symmetrical.
I would like a celtic torc - for Cernunnos (the god of the forest)- around my right ankle (or wrist) and on the left ankle (or wrist) I want a bind rune I made as a tribute to Brigid (goddess of the gentle arts; writing, poetry, music). Also a triple goddess symbol on the inside of my left wrist (under my watch).
On the back of my right arm I want a wolf paw print and on the left I would like a bear paw print. Again tribute to the god and goddess (not that I believe that there is any one god or goddess, just the spirit). But also as a tribute to my totem animals...Bear is introspection, Wolf is the teacher.....They're always with me and because they both play such a large part in my life, I want them to rest with me forever on my flesh.
One blue swallow and one red swallow on my chest...Family's naval heritage. I'd enlist, but I hate water, lol. Actually, family is also a running theme. The angel on my right bicep is for my mother and the eureka flag (soon hopefully) will represent my Australian heritage. I'm looking to find something befitting of my father for my left bicep to match the Czech motto (truth prevails) on my right calf. I'm also going to get a six pointed nautical star somewhere along the centre of my body....Each of the six points represents myself and my siblings.
And "princess" in overtly feminine script on the back of my neck. Because I am, you know.
Man, the list goes on and on. There'll be a dragon or two in the mix as well (born in 1988, year of the dragon). A pair of cherries. Gemini symbol matched with the comedy and tragedy masks....Such is my life.
