EVENTS
1885 - The Statue of Liberty arrived in NY harbour.
1963 - U.S. Supreme Court ruled 8 to 1 in Arbington Shool Vs. Schempp against allowing the recital of Bible verses and the Lord's Prayer in public schools.
1972 - Watergate. Need I say more?
1987 - The Dusky Seaside Sparrow becomes extinct
1994 - O.J. Simpson is arrested.

P.S. My brother's lucky. On his birthday (Sep 18th) in 1932 my favourite Hollywood death took place. Peg Entwhistle committed suicide by throwing herself off the "H" of the Hollywood sign. And also, in 1952 Dee Dee Ramone was born :-)
