'Tis the season....
So word up.
In my attempt to get my mother to get off my case I cleaned, ironed, tidied and emptied the dishwasher. I bet I'll still hear about it *sighs*.
But, that aside, it's December first today. Pinch and a punch etc etc etc. 24 sleeps 'til that holiday that really no longer has much to do with christ (which is fine by me). Xmas eve dinner at my Grandmother's...Hopefully she's given up on the Czech tradition of eating nine (9!!) different types of meat....Plus all the sides. I mean really, 15 people can only eat so much, lol. I wonder if there'll be a golden piglet this year, lol....If you don't know, don't ask, it's another Czech tradition.
Anyhow mi madre and I were talking about which were the best decades...And I, only having lived through all of the'90s didn;t have much to contribute. But my mum said that the "greed is good" era was her favourite....And I got to thinking about the way I was raised. This all reminded me of the top three things I was always taught:
1) Never settle for second best.
2) Everything is negotiable.
3) If money can fix it, it's not a problem.
Shallow much? lol. I suppose it stands to reason that I am the way I am because of this (or at least in part)...Shallow, jealous, greedy....Etc etc etc....Though I work pretty damn hard to keep all those traits under wraps.
What were you all taught by your parents??
P.S. 'Liza, congrats on the didge :-) Looking forward to hearing you play.
P.P.S. How fucking hot is it??!!
