EDIT: Holy crud, I did not expect such a wave of responses. XD I like to think that I don't write bad!fics, so I'll contribute when I actually have something. <.<;
Just joined yesterday, and after about half a day of perusing through the entries (I didn't have work today, I was bored), I decided I may as well come in an say something.
I admit it, I didn't know Fire Emblem existed until Super Smash Bros. Melee. I used to avoid strategy games like the plague, because, well... I suck at them. But Fire Emblem seemed like it had an interesting enough story for me to attempt.
Though it wasn't until several years later that I was finally inspired enough to harass my friend until she lent me FF7. Played it, loved it, developed a fondness for Kent/Sain (or Sain/Kent, doesn't matter much to me). Though it was pretty frustrating to get through, since I was determined to have no one die, and as already stated, strategy is not my thing.
I somehow got my dad into the series, and he bought Path of Radiance. I knew a tiny bit about Ike from Brawl, and my brief look into the FE fanbase, but that was it. So I went into Path of Radiance with nothing but the following information: That Ike leads some kind of mercenary band, his father gets killed by someone called the Black Knight, and that everyone pairs him up with some guy named Soren.
My reaction when I actually saw who Soren was for the first time: "What the hell? He's creepy."
But now, of course, I love the creepy bastard. <3
...I had a point somewhere in there. I think. Anyway, I'm a complete and total sap for canon/almost canon, as overdone as it is, so I ended up falling pretty hard for Ike/Soren like the pathetic fangirl that I am.
So yeah, basically, I just wanted to ask: Is everyone completely sick of Ike/Soren stuffs? I feel like I want to contribute, but I think that's the only pairing I could work with and actually have it come out decent. Reading back on old entries I know that at least some are completely tired of it, but I wanna know what the bulk of the community thinks.
