So apparently there was a post on weird pairings (which there was hot debate that I connveniently missed due to exams) and personally, I enjoy the weird pairing here and there (whoever thought of Naesala/Ike was very cool. I might write that later on just for curiosity's sake). One of these 'weird pairings' was Shinon/Ike
So I present you with Shinon/Ike

SUMMARY: It was easy for Shinon to define his feelings for Ike
Vindication

Shinon can clearly define his feelings for Ike. Summed in his entire usual blunt manner, Shinon can say with a straight face that he hates Ike. There was no eternal debate, no clashing of misled feelings and doubt. Shinon hates Ike, the sun rises and sets. It was a fact that everyone had accepted.
Except Ike.
Which did nothing to help Shinon’s mood those days. Firstly, he had been beaten by a snot-nosed whelp who had taken over the position that Shinon knew he didn’t deserve. So the brat won a few battles, so what?
When Ike seized the capital, it hit Shinon rather hard. Ike was a general now. He didn’t need help. In fact, soldiers with more years behind them go to Ike for help. It annoyed Shinon to no end. Everyone was raving about Ike and it made him sick. So he turned to the one thing that offered him some stability in this upside down world he was currently living in.
And that’s where Ike found him later, slumped over a barstool, clutching his glass so tightly it cut into his hands. Ike sighed and shook him slightly. Shinon slipped off the barstool and collapsed onto the floor. Ike carefully lifted him up and hoisted Shinon on his back (partially. Though Shinon was lithe and Ike was no weakling himself, it would have been difficult) and ended up with Shinon having his arms around Ike and Ike struggling to walk.
There was no conversation for the first five minutes. The snow lay on the ground like a carpet and the cold seeped into their shoes. Ike stumbled a few times before managing to keep his balance. Shinon was drifting between the space of oblivion and oblivious. His eyes rolled constantly and bile kept rising to his throat before falling down.
It was then that the goddess of conversation appeared when Shinon said, “Go away.”
Ike conveniently ignored him.
“I said go away,” Shinon’s voice slurred and he stumbled slightly, “I don’t need you.”
Ike continued to ignore Shinon (but tightened his grip slightly so Shinon wouldn’t fall).
“I don’t need you!”
“What does that have to do with anything?” Ike said finally, realizing that ignoring a drunk was harder than he thought, “We’re in an enemy country and you go out to drink?”
“’Twas the only place where they weren’t singing your praises,” Shinon said, his voice dropping slightly before becoming high-pitched, “General Ike is so amazing!”
“You make it sound as if I asked for it,” Ike said as he trudged in the snow.
“You probably did, just like you got the princess, got your title, got everything people spent years working for,” Shinon leaned closer to Ike’s ear, “How does that make you feel? Better?”
“I never wanted the title.”
“Doesn’t change the fact that you got it anyway,” Shinon moved away and snorted, “You always receive, but do you ever give? Have you ever given anything away? Have you ever sacrificed something important for it? No,” And Shinon’s eyes burned, “You just took it all.”
Ike paused and spoke softly, “And if I gave it all away, what then?”
“I would hate you even more,” Shinon said, “Because then you would be an idiot.”
Ike smiled slightly, “I can’t win with you can I?”
“No,” Shinon paused and his eyes lolled slightly before focusing, “I would never let you.”
Shinon stumbled and began puking onto the ground. Ike patted his back reassuringly and kept his grip tight. Shinon snarled slightly before relaxing and letting Ike carry him partially.
When they reached the camp, Ike said, “No, I didn’t think you ever would.”
I wrote this just now, so it hasn't been betaed. Kill me with critism if you like XD.
