I&#8217;ve traveled here and there. When I look out the plane or&nbsp; car window and catch a glimpse of the Arch, I know I am almost home.<\/p>\n<p>Standing at 630 feet tall, the Gateway Arch is the tallest stainless steel monument in the world. This famous symbol of St. Louis opened as monument to the westward expansion of the U.S. in 1967.<\/p>\n<p>As with any structure, repairs and upgrades need to be made. We were contacted to provide the structural engineering services for the elector motor upgrade project at the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial Gateway Arch<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Design of new permanent platform and drive room with ships ladder and catwalk to service elevator<\/li>\n<li>Analysis and determination of allowable point and distributed floor loading in the observation deck and tram loading areas at the top of the Arch.<\/li>\n<li>Design of work platform(s), related to motor replacement, in stair areas at the top of the Arch. Design of wood cribbing platform, stair covering and motor removal method for bidding guidance.<\/li>\n<li>Design of modifications to a vertical support channel to allow for improved access to the tram cow-catcher\n<figure id=\"attachment_13031\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-13031\" style=\"width: 225px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a
