mini round: Trees!
Just because the first round is done doesn't mean that until then we'll be dead. It's time for the first annual tree round.
No, it doesn't have to involve trees. Basically, it follows the format of some communities as
saying_yes_2010 and porn tree
Those communities have a good example of what we're talking about, but to summarize:
You start with the game in question (I'll have these covered, don't worry.)
If you wanted to request Kent/Lyn, you'd go start a thread by replying to the FE7 comment with a Kent comment, a Lyn comment, and then a prompt. You can always simply write without a prompt too, if you're so inspired.
Basically:
FE7
-----Kent
-----------Kent/Lyn
-------------------Kent/Lyn, seeing you home
Make sure to title and list it the comment as you go.
Note that you can also add to prompts as you go. Such as commenting to "at dawn" to "seeing you home", or they could take the Kent character thread and add on say, Kent/Sain. You can start with simply a character, and interact with how the thread goes with people, or thread it all the way down to a specific prompt you want.
Pairings don't have to come in just twos--if poly's what you want, you'd just keep adding characters in the same thread. (like say, Eirika > Eirika/Ephriam > Eirika/Ephriam/L'Arachel)
If you want to make it distinct as gen, use + as opposed to /. For example, Viguarde + Fado + Hayden.
You can add as many threads as you want, and there's no debt that says because you added threads and prompts means you have to write (though it's encouraged) and of course, art fills are awesome too. Also note that just because there's already a prompt for a pairing, don't let that discourage you from adding different ones. The more the merrier.
Also of note that because it was based on sex based communities this doesn't mean that porn is required–-far be from that, gen is fine and dandy. As is cute fluff bits. And if you do write something with an adult rating, make sure to label it R or NC-17 in the title. If your fic gets too long for one comment, you can either keep threading it, or link to FF.net/your journal/Ao3/other.
Got it? :) Comment away.
