Author's Note: Prompt was "I will never leave you." I don't remember if it was a default prompt or if someone actually submitted it (I just have my picked prompts listed and printed out), so I went where my inspiration took me. I apologize if the prompter is disappointed in the, ahh, lack of cute mushiness. I really like how this came out, though, hence its being posted.
It's kind of a response to two things, the first being the mass amount of fiction where dying characters have epic-length monologues and/or conversations while they lay dying (going to make a post about this in my journal today, actually), and the second being the need to try a 'fic that was both a death'fic, a tragedy, but still not entirely dark, with love-- NOT romance!-- being the underlying theme.
