Challenge 003
Challenge 003: Yield
Picked by:
myaru
Challenge Type: Oneshot
Challenge Requirements: 500 word minimum. There isn't a max so, go wild ya'll!
Yield
1 : archaic : recompense, reward
2 : to give or render as fitting, rightfully owed, or required
3 : to give up possession of on claim or demand: as--
a : to give up ... and so die
b : to surrender or relinquish to the physical control of another
c : to surrender or submit (oneself) to another
d : to give (oneself) up to an inclination, temptation, or habit
e : to relinquish one's possession of (as a position of advantage or point of superiority)
One might yield willingly to a lover's demands, or a rival's victory, or perhaps surrender at the point of an enemy's sword. A tactician might give up control of one field to win a later battle, to deceive an enemy, or to regroup. It can be joyful or bitter, a release or the beginning of the end.
To quote a novel I rather like: That which yields is not always weak.
Challenge Yield will run until March 8, 2010 at midnight, EST. If you're running late and need an extension, please contact one of us!
Love,
Manna & Evan
