New mod introduction. :D
Hey, guys! Seems like a good idea to do an intro post and let you know what's going on.
In short, FE Contest isn't going to change much. The names on our mod posts will be different, but everything else - the voting, choosing themes - will work the way it always has. Neither
mark_asphodel or I will be submitting stories so we can be completely neutral.
We'd also like to remind everyone that this community is about encouraging FE fans to write, and we're open to all kinds of fiction: gen, het, slash, crossovers, and any rating you feel is appropriate for your entry. It came to my attention that slash writers felt uncomfortable submitting, and we don't want that; write what you like to write, and don't worry about our opinions.
Besides that: we haven't had banners in a while. I happen to have the programs and skills necessary to make passable banners, but IS is pretty stingy about putting out artwork, which means there's almost nothing to work with unless I think I can draw for every theme. (I can try, but my art isn't what I'd call a reward.) If I can find a few fan artists willing to let me use their work, we might be able to bring these back - so what do you guys think? Does anyone know of an artist who'd be willing to give blanket permission? Any readers out there who like to draw?
