had a weekend away last weekend...went to Stratfford-on-Avon to watch Shakespeare ('ooooooo' i hear you cry....'cultured')...i went and watched 3 plays (Henry VI parts 1, 2, 3) ("bloody hell" i hear you scream...9 hours of Shakespeare in 2 days "crazy biatch!!!")...well i know someone in the cast and let me say....it was bloody fantastic, everyone should go...going to see Richard III in february (same cast again) can't wait....saw the actor who plays Richard III in 'Comedy of Errors' last year and he was fab....bloody plays though...at the end of Part three there are massive pools of blood on stage....ewwwwww

went to watch 'Who wants to be a Millionaire' being flimed on wednesday night...really cool...studio is tiny though, but it was fun. I knew someone else in the audience aswell...sitting on the other side of the studio...crazy shite.
Gonna be broadcast in early November (all the contestants were wearing poppies) and i am visible (as i saw on the screens-which show what will be broadcast) during the 2nd 'ask the audience'...i'm at the top behind the contestant....(btw the answer is 'Floatation!').
Contestants were rubbish...highest they got was £8000 and neither phone-a-friend knew the answer hehe
Chris tarrant is lovely and very very funny...the papers should leave him alone...he thanked us all for being so supportive during his "week from hell"

Go to University tomorrow. It feels like i have been left behind, everyone else (who is going to either uni or work) has gone and i'm still waiting to go. Still working...pretty much full time now-getting those pennies in hehe.

no major technical faults just a bad mike during 'thank goodness'

only major cast faults that i picked up on was miram was out of time with her lines in 'thank goodness'


idina...well i was never keen on her from what i've heard, recordings wise but she has grown on me...damm she looks sexy in green and dear god the screaming when she ran out for the first time, but the screaming did go on too long and became inconsiderate to the cast because they were all waiting to start 'dear old shiz' and they couldnt hear when to start...idina started singing before the band started but she covered it up well...her 'no good deed' was insane

helen seemed very nervous but improved as the show went on...the accent took a while to get used to but by the end of the first half it grows on you...i guess she probably had a better performance then thursday night

adam...wtf...you couldnt hear half his 'dancing through life' cause he wasn't articulating enough...it was "mumble through life mumble mumble sweeping'...its a shame, cause he was hot....did fiyero and glinda kiss through 'dancing through life' and on the bridge during 'im not that girl' in the america shows?

miram was great...real sexual undertone in her scenes with the wizard...when she came on stage after 'dear old shiz' she said "welcome new students, i'm" and had to stop because of the screaming. She grinned and said really slowly "i am madame morrible"

i liked nigel as the wizard..he played it straighter than a lot of the wizards i've seen...who seem to be more insane.

katie and james were very sweet together

i grinned to myself when martin got his line right during 'no one mourns the wicked' (see his online blog if you dont understand) and he was fantastic as dillamond

the ensemble were fantastic...a real ammount of energy put in to it.

beautifully lit and staged i thought...the set was amazing but the lighting really did it for me...especially during 'one short day' and 'no good deed'- the colours really highlighted idina's face and made the scene really eeiry.

i really like some of the new lines added but do they think british audience's are thick? nessa says after 'wicked witch of the east' "you're going to find fiyero, arent you? to elphaba and before 'wonderful' the scene is too plainfully spelt out.

So Idina Menzel is the first UK Elphaba....i have to admit i am slightly disappointed...i wanted someone new, someone i hadnt heard of...what happened to the producers saying they wanted an all british cast. So Ms Menzel will speak with an american accent and the rest of the cast with a british accent. Oh well, i suppose she'll be ok for when i go (8th september) cause she knows the part...
