<lj:music>Chrono Trigger - World Revoloution</lj:music>

So this weekend, one of my friends is getting married, and while I've been to quite a few weddings, this is the first non-family, go-it-alone one. I am also a terrible gift buyer, and as far as I can tell they aren't registered anywhere, so I have no idea what to get. Furthermore, it's also in Iowa, which means I'm going to have to drive about 4 hours to someplace I don't know by myself, which is something I hate and the fact that I really won't have a chance to actually look for any gifts until Friday is really kinda stressing me out.

And next weekend doesn't look much better, even though X-Men starts and I'll be there Friday, I have to work Saturday and Sunday, and I'm really kind of dreading what the June schedule will look like.

I need a vacation. And not to Branson. *shudder*

I tell myself I need to get it done in February, and it just sits there. And it's not even like I owe; I'm getting money back (probably enough for a new video card and some more RAM.)

Anyway, I'm updating the Training Room CoH/V server for the first time since October in anticipation of I7 hitting Test tomorrow (Hopefully) and some Mayhem Mission fun.

Still not quite done with Suikoden V; I was stuck at my parents' house for most of the weekend, and when I'm not working I'm usually playing my Dominator.

So my Suikoden V was in Louisville as of 9:16 last night, if the UPS tracker is to be trusted. Hopefully even with the crappy shipping my mom chose when she ordered it (I still refuse to get a credit card - also note to self: CoH/V timecard runs out next Wednesday) I'll hopefully be playing it this weekend... during the roughly 3 hours of free time I have. if it's another busy weekend at the theatre I'm going to kill something. Like axe-wielding rabbits in Falena.

Plus the board is down and I'm booooored. Can't really get started on anything 'cause Lost is new tonight. :/

<lj:music>Suikoden Tactics OST - A Mystery Hidden in the Ruins</lj:music>

So I had an urge to pull out Minish Cap today for some reason, even though I haven't touched it since Christmas (mostly becuase I'd gotten half way through the game just after release through *cough*different means*cough*. Unfortunantly, my desk is very messy so I had to dig around for it, which got me started on taking in ventory of the GBA games I own. Final count was 22, although I was only able to find 21. FF Dawn of Souls seems to have disappeared. :/

In no particlar order-
FFIV
FFTA
FF:DoS (missing ;_;)
Golden Sun
GS: The Lost Age
Fire Emblem
FE: Sacred Stones
Shining Soul 2
Castlevania: CotM
Castlevania NES Classics
LoZ NES Classics
Zelda 2 NES Classics
Metroid: Zero Mission
Metroid Fusion
SMB 3
PKMN Ruby
PKMN Fire Red
PKMN Emerald
Tactics Ogre: TKoL
Boktai
Castlevania Double Pack (HoD and Aria of Sorrow)
and LoZ: The Minish Cap

The saddest part is that this isn't even all the GBA games I want; There's still A Link to the Past, Boktai 2 and Yoshi's Island, plus FFVI later this year. >_>

Tales of Phantasia comes out next week too, same time as Shadow Hearts From the New World.
Expected release date for Excel Saga volume 14 is April. ;_;

Excel 12 and 13 were so much more interesting now that there seems to be an actual plot, though 13 left me with a couple questions, like how Iwata's body is powered if Shiouji can't duplicate Ropponmatsu's core.

Of course, this is also the volume with full-back-al Elgala nudity. XD

I'm also wishing more than ever now for another Excel anime series, one that follows the manga much more closely this time.

    <lj:music>Genso Suikoden Celtic Collection 2 - Relaxation Time</lj:music>

I keep intending to type up some big long entry on how things are going since I haven't done that in a while, but I find that I lack the drive to do such, mostly because things are the same 'ol as always, which means I'm working constantly (more than last year at this time too! About 19 1/2 hours just yesterday and today. I get to work both jobs tomorrow!) and I spend the rest of the time screwing around, though this year I'm screwing around with nifty holiday events in CoH/V. Yay for presents! Boo for evil snow monsters that spawn in groups of 10 at +1 level and include a Boss and two Lts.! seriously, if I weren't <strike>robbing presents from lowbies in Steel Canyon</strike> searching for presents in a lower-level zone I'd be toast.

Anyway. I've gotten so many games in the past two months that I've hardly touched because I'm working or too tired to play anything and just want to sleep that it's starting to become a problem to actually find one to play. Aside from the half-hour i set aside for Animal Crossing DS after I get home from work I've got CoX Holiday events, I've got lots of yummy Fire Emblem goodness yet, plenty of Suikoden Tactics left, We <3 Katamari, FFIV Advance (TOO EASY! Cagnazzo went down in less than a minute! ;_;) I've barely scratched the surface of Dragon Quest 8, I haven't even unrapped Metroid Prime 2 and I bought that the day after Thanksgiving.... And I feel obligated to finish them all. Even the ones that I don't ever want to touch again like Star Ocean 3 and Radiata Stories. :/

Normally this would be a good weekend for gaming, but not this year. Since Christmas is on Sunday, I don't get an extra day off, and since I didn't work thanksgiving at the Theatre... well, guess what's pretty much the only business open on Christmas Day. :/ I keep telling myself that it's worth it because I get New Years Eve/Day off, but I'm not buying it since I don't have any place to go anyway and someone will probably try to get me to work for them. although I did finally get the answering machince I got from my sister set up todayso I don't ever have to answer the phone again...

Which brings me to the original intention for this update that I've been avoiding: My birthday. It sucked. I got 3 'Happy Birthdays' from my family, two cards, the answering machine from my sister, and $50 and the second season of Smallville from my parents. And a crappy cake that was more of a joke than a serious gesture. I don't know if it's that after you turn 22 getting presents becomes unfashionable or something, but I really did feel mostly ignored, especially since we had to do Christmas stuff that night. Of course, I feel ignored most of the time anyway so I'm used to it.

Anyway: the Sequal, this is far longer than I intended and I have to shower and stuff so I can play some FFIV or something 'afore bed.

    <lj:music>Suikoden IV - A Formidable Enemy Appears</lj:music>

So after I got home last night, I discovered that the devs were going to run a special heroes vs. Villains PVP event in Siren's Call last night. I actually made it home just in time before it was supposed to start, but server difficulties (likely stemming from the fact that there were around 7200 people on the one server when I checked. o_o) caused about an hour to an hour and a half delay. Statesman and Ghost Widow NPCs were spawned in Atlas and mercy that provided enough XP and Influence/Infamy to level to 25 and buy Enhancements, and then they took us to Siren's Call.

I decided to play a hero (because I figured they'd be the underdogs and everyone would be playing villains,) based on one of my other characters for the evening. Whyte Knight was (since she's wiped now) a Natural Broadsword/Invulnerability Scrapper (based on Anima Blade, a BS/Super Reflexes Scrapper). She really needs a cape, but I didn't want to waste time doing the mission. :/

Waiting for States to arrive and the event to start. We were actually here about 40 minutes before the server burst into flame and exploded... or at least until they had to shut it down to fix the problems getting States and Ghost Widow to spawn. :/ (this is just one of the many, many instances of Atlas. Each one has a max population of around 200. Lag was bad.)

Yay mobs! Yay new emotes!

Actually in Siren's Call, finally. 200 people trying to level at Ms. Liberty at the same time is INSANE. I'm smacking down a Brute who came across me dispensing justice on a squishy Mastermind.

Tail end of one of the 'Hotspots' where massive battles between Hero and Villain NPCs spawn and help determine who controls more of the zone.

Superjump is fun. Superjump + crazy-insane-over-7000-people-in-one-zone lag is not. Did I mention the lag?

Just before the event ended. This is how I usually went down throughout the night; Four or five villains ganging up at once. ^_~

So after a fun, laggy, very later night, the Heroes managed to win the day Several times. In quite a few instances, despite the invisible death machine stalkers.

Aggressive, but with the brains to back it up: You are a Spellsword!

Score! You have a prestige class. A prestige class can only be taken
after you've fulfilled certain requirements. This may mean that you're
an exceptionally talented person, but it probably doesn't.

Spellswords combine arcane might with combat know-how. They're
much tougher than mages, like to wear armor, and can cast spells
through their weapons. They're very, very, good at doing lots of damage
to a single target very quickly, and while not quite as tough as most
fighters, are still pretty hard to kill.

You're both smart and aggressive, which means that you're probably
pretty dangerous when pissed off.
The current release date for FFVI GBA is the week of my birthday. Hell yes!

Rhapsodia is also official out in Japan today, and about a motnh and a half from it's US release. Hopefully we get another cool Treasure Hunt-type promotion. ^_^

Fan reaction to the game has been really positive so far (a lot more so than Suiko IV) which is awesome.

At least I get paid tomorrow so i can get some groceries and maybe go to Lincoln Saturday since there's no game and pick up FMA 5.

I did update my Amazon wishlist, though.
