    First Morrill Act passed

    Established the public colleges offering instruction in agriculture, mechanical arts and other fields. Known for establishing America’s land-grant institutions

  • 1890

    Second Morrill Act

    Provided annual funding and establishment of colleges for black students in states with segregated systems. Known for development of many historically black land-grant institutions

  • 1910

    Third Morrill Act

    Provided annual funding and establishment of colleges for black students in states with segregated systems. Known for development of many historically black land-grant institutions

  • 1920

    Fourth Morrill Act

    Provided annual funding and establishment of colleges for black students in states with segregated systems. Known for development of many historically black land-grant institutions

  • 1930

    Fifth Morrill Act

    Provided annual funding and establishment of colleges for black students in states with segregated systems. Known for development of many historically black land-grant institutions

  • 1940

    Sixth Morrill Act

    Provided annual funding and establishment of colleges for black students in states with segregated systems. Known for development of many historically black land-grant institutions
