Meeting the Moment

On March 26, 2026, the New Jersey Institute of Technology hosted AI Exploration Day, a massive campus wide convergence designed to tackle the complexities of artificial intelligence. Rather than simply celebrating new technology, the event brought together students, faculty, industry leaders, and K-12 educators to ask hard questions about ethics, sustainability, and real world application. From an expansive student showcase featuring projects on stroke rehabilitation and fungal intelligence to hands on demonstrations in the Living Lab, the day exposed our community to the sheer volume of AI research happening across disciplines. It was a centralizing moment for early adopters and sharp critics alike to learn from one another and set a thoughtful foundation for our institutional strategy.
