Upcoming Extremely Informal Drunken Symposium on The Female Gaze?

I was in the gym pedaling the exercise bike and reading old issues of Entertainment Weekly (as one does) and thus discovered that we are close to the opening date of "Magic Mike," about that time that Channing Tatum washed dishes at The Ladies' Nightclub after his car broke down was a stripper. With Matt Bomer, Matthew McConnaghey (sp?) and, I forgot who the other guy is although I'm sure it isn't Jeremy Renner, don't blame me, I'm just the messenger.

There has been a surprising lack of buzz about this in the fanosphere because it seems like perfect summer entertainment especially should one have gotten outside a couple of raspberry frozen margs first. Unless everybody is frugally planning to wait for the DVD (although some things are better on the big screen, fnaar fnaar, but as far as I can tell it won't be in 3D unless, of course, they manage two sequels) so they can mix their own blender drinks. I'm sure it'll become a bachelorette-party classic.

In light of the existence of The Full Monty as a British film and a USian musical, I cannot hold out any hope that there will be a remake with the cast of Sherlock Holmes, but one can dream.
