Be@t Mid-Term Event
On 10 July, Vila Nova de Famalicão hosted the successful be@t Mid-Term Event, be@t Day, gathering over 300 participants at CITEVE – Centre for Textile and Clothing Technology and Parque da Devesa. This event showcased the latest advancements in sustainability and bioeconomy within the textile and clothing sector.
Co-organized by Magellan Circle, the event featured renowned moderators Joana Barrios and Paulo Gomes, along with be@t ambassadors Catarina Barreiros and Graça Fonseca. Participants engaged in insightful discussions on key topics like Sustainability in Fashion and Ecodesign, while exploring the be@t pilot projects, which are driving change through the use of bio-based materials.
The be@t project, led by CITEVE and supported by 54 industry entities, is committed to advancing bioeconomy practices in textiles by promoting biomaterials, enhancing circularity, and fostering sustainability. The project also emphasizes societal involvement, aiming to create a dynamic, eco-conscious future for the industry.
Be@t Day provided a unique opportunity for networking and collaboration among industry leaders and innovators. The event reinforced be@t’s mission to reduce the sector’s reliance on fossil-based resources and accelerate the shift towards environmentally friendly, high-value products.
