 AIM OF THE SCHOOL

The aim of the QML Winter School is to introduce the attendees to the basic aspects of quantum machine learning, its different facets as well as the early applications reported so far. The oral contributions will be delivered by world experts in the field and will cover topics from the fundamental concepts of machine learning with quantum devices to the state of the art techniques, algorithms and hardwares used nowadays.

The school topics will cover quantum machine learning both at theoretical and experimental level, discussing quantum devices implementing qubits with different platforms – from superconductors to neutral atoms, from photons to trapped ions. These topics will be addressed either in the form of lectures or research/industrial talks, together with the help of computer-aided hands-on tutorials.

FEE

The registration fee is €650 and includes the participation to the school, lunch and coffee breaks, accommodation in a double room arrangement, and attendance to the social dinner. There is a supplement for single room arrangement.

A reduced registration fee of €400 is applicable if accommodation is not required.

ORAL CONTRIBUTIONS

Oral contributions will be delivered in time slots of either 1h or 1h30m followed by coffee break or lunch.

Four time slots (2x1h30m and 2x1h) are dedicated to computer-aided tutorials that will offer the attendees the possibility to practice with the quantum circuits introduced during the lectures. The remaining contributions will cover advanced research and application topics.

POSTERS

Attendees are encouraged to present a poster on their research work.

The poster session will run on the evening of December 10th and the presenting authors are required to be available for discussion.

Poster boards are in vertical/portrait format, maximal poster size is A0 (W: 841 mm x H: 1190 mm).

All the material necessary for fastening the posters will be provided by organizers and available in the poster room.

SOCIAL EVENT

On the evening of Wednesday 11th December a social event will be organized at a restaurant in the city center of Trento.

About Trento

Trento is the capital of the Italian province Trentino, located in the middle of the alps. It is a city of around 100,000 people with a beautiful medieval centre.

During the school the centre will be buzzling with people because of the traditional Christmas markets that take place in piazza Fiera and surrounding streets.

Beautiful places to visit are the Castle of Buonconsiglio and the MUSE – Science Museum

Other locations in the province can reached by train or bus: for further informations visit the dedicated website
