Wynne’s great-grandfather Richard was born in Redwood City, California, to a father, Richard Lorini Brooks, of Northern Irish, Scottish, English, Dutch, and distant Belgian, descent; and to a mother, Cecilia C. Hedge, who was of Irish origin.
